Peewee Reps going to Silver Stick Finals
The Elmvale Coyote Peewee Reps have become the second Coyote team to win a spot to the Silver Stick finals in Forest in January.   In the handful of games leading up to the tournament the Peewee Reps had been inconsistent.  With impressive wins over Collingwood and Penetang as well as some rather poor play against Midland and Penetang, nobody really knew which team would show up in Wasaga.

Game one of the Silverstick Tournament saw the Gary Edgecombe team face a familiar foe from Oro.  Elmvale started the way they normally do and allowed the Thunder to take an early lead.  Shortly after, Noah Parnell responded for the Coyotes to even the score at one.  The team continued its strong play and grabbed the lead when Sam Dion found the net in the second period.  Isaak McGinnis gave Elmvale an insurance goal in the third and the boys won the game 3-1.
After a lengthy break between games the Peewees took to the ice to play the Simcoe Warriors in their final round robin game.  The team had a tough time mounting any sort of sustained pressure and again found themselves trailing 1-0 after one.  The boys played a better second with lots of scoring chances but were unable to capitalize.  Midway through the third the Warriors extended their lead to 2-0.   With five minutes left Jason Priest finally got the Coyotes on the scoresheet and cut the lead in half.  As the clock ticked down the boys pressed hard for the equalizer and with less than :20 seconds on the clock Jason Priest got his second of the game to even up the score.
With a win and a tie the Peewees finished first in pool B which meant a game against the Wasaga Stars.  Elmvale jumped out to an early 2-0 advantage.  The Coyotes continued to press but it was Wasaga who responded to cut into the lead.  Cade Preston scored in the second to restore the 2 goal cushion.  It stayed that way until late in the third when Luke Sneddon added his second of the game into an empty net making the final 4-1.
The tournament ended the way it began with a game against the Oro Thunder.  The boys were ready for this one and came out flying.  Again the opponents scored first but Elmvale pushed back less than two minutes later as Cade Preston found the net.  The team took the lead later in the first as Carter Crowder scored on a breakaway.   Midway through the second Noah Parnell extended the score to 3-1.   The Coyotes continued to pour it on in the third as Cade Preston notched his second of the game and Jason Priest also scored to put the game out of reach.  It was one of the Gary Edgecombe Peewee Reps best efforts of the season.  MVP was awarded to Jason Priest.
Congratulations to the boys on their big win and good luck to them in Forest in early January.
