To All EMHA Members and Coyote Players, Parents and Fans

Wow, where have the first 3 months of hockey gone?  It seems like just yesterday we started the conditioning skates and conducted our Rep and AE tryouts.  EMHA recognizes that tryouts are never an easy process for the players, parents or coaches and we are committed to putting forth a policy for next season that makes things more consistent across the board.  There is no great way to cut a player but with the assistance of this years coaches, we hope to have a common practice in place for next year.

EMHA wants to thank all of our coaching staffs for volunteering their time to give our young children on opportunity to play hockey.  To our membership, thank you and know we value your volunteer time to run many of our events and fundraisers.  Early in the season, EMHA hosted the IP/Tyke Welcome BBQ and meetings and ran two specialty clinics with many of our coaches attending.  For those of you that attended the Thanksgiving Dance, we thank you and hope you had a good time.  It was another outstanding success.  Thanks to Denise Ritchie-Mclean, Paul Bouzis and all the volunteers who organized such a great night.

Most of you should have received your team pictures and we hope you are happy with any extras that you may have ordered.  Apparel has been ordered and coming in and I must say the stuff looks great on our players and fans.  I hope you received the email about being able to order these items directly from our website soon.  Thanks to Kent Fay, Tina Robertson and Steve Barber (who you can email orders to for in-stock items) for getting our website ordering set up and for helping make Coyote Nation look so good.

Many of our teams are having early season success not only in our Georgian Bay and Georgian Triangle Leagues, but in Tournaments as well.  Our Novice and Bantam Rep teams, along with our Midget LL team are all near the top of their leagues.  Congratulations go out to our Bantam and Midget Rep teams for Winning and being Finalists respectively in our Brian English Memorial Tournament.  Thanks to Marten Nagel and volunteers for organizing that tournament and our upcoming Atom and Pee Wee AE tournament in early January.

EMHA was honoured to be able to host an Exhibition game between the 93/94 Midget European Team and our 2013-14 Bantam Euro Tour team this past weekend.  Again the community came out to support our Elmvale Coyotes and the smiles and good time that our Alumni were having was great to see.  Elmvale Minor Hockey is lucky to be enriched in tradition, loyalty and pride as several of the 93/94 Midget members currently have kids playing hockey in Elmvale and or are coaches/executive members in EMHA.  EMHA continues to have goals for our younger members to become excellent citizens in their communities.  The 93/94 team members are great examples of that for all our Coyote players.

Best of Luck to our 22 Bantam aged players and 47 Family members who will representing Elmvale, Ontario and Canada on their Euro Tour in Finland, Sweden and Denmark leaving the Elmvale Arena on Dec. 26th at 1pm.  Their trip will wrap up cheering on Canada at the World Jr Championships for the Quarter and Semi Final games and the Gold and Bronze medal games.  Coyote alumni Chris Bigras from the Owen Sound Attack has been invited to attended Tryout camps and we have our fingers crossed that he will make the team so we can cheer him on.  Watch for our Coyote players and fans during TSN telecasts.

If you get a chance please see the email that was sent out a few days ago or check our website and vote for the Stacey Stillar "Splash for Stacey" Water Park on the Aviva Community Fund website.

In closing on behalf of EMHA I would like to wish all our players, parents and Coyote fans a Very Merry Christmas and a Very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2014!!!

Go Coyotes Go!  Go Canada Go!!
