Novice Mighty Molars Finish On Top
The Novice Mighty Molars reached the half way point of the season Wednesday night out dueling the #1 ranked Oro Thunder 2-1 in an exciting home game.  The gutsy and dedicated effort by both the Thunder and Coyotes gave all of the fans a true edge of their seat experience.

Oro came into the game leading the league with 87 goals for and only 5 against, where the Coyotes got pumped up wanting to show the home town fans how far they had come since the last 8-0 loss to the mighty Thunder team earlier in the season.

While the Novice Coyotes have been strong putting the puck in the net, they knew that a stronger defensive and goal tending effort would be required to compete with Oro.

The game started with both teams exchanging some great scoring chances and end-to-end play, where half way through the first period, #8 Gillian took control of the puck and passed it off the boards right onto #17 Garrath's tape who was just across our blue line.  Garreth rushed down the left side of the rink and whizzed a wrist shot into the top corner of the net for a 1-0 lead.

Only a minute later, rushing defenceman #14 Josh, picked up a pass just inside the blue line, and turned on the jets, almost melting the ice under his skates with his speed, where he also buried a top shelf wrist shot to make it 2-0 Coyotes.

Oro responded at the 1:52 marker of the 1st period, showing how strong of a team they are, and the battle was on.

The Coyotes, knowing the Thunder had the ability and talent to fill the net, shifted gears to defensive mode and broke up play after play in the neutral ice zone.  The back checking by #11 Cayden earned him the game puck, and he led by example, where all other forwards followed suit with hustle, drive and determination.

The kids played a very smart game, where, when they saw the defensive end was protected their offensive skills came out to meet the opportunity. #10 Shayne's goal mouth scramble was stopped with the puck sitting only a mere half inch on the goal line.  #17 Garreth rang a shot off the cross bar and another one off both posts which bounced back out.  #7 Owen, #9 Nolan and #15 Owen all had solid shots and passes around the net, most of which came from great defensive zone clearing feeds from #4 Kaiden and #3 Danielle.

After the game #1 Robbie, who went 5-0 as a goalie said he was happy to play in net and was looking forward to rejoining the team as a skater.

Game winning goal scorer Josh's lucky snake is sure to be at every game the rest of the season and the ringing of Coyote bells were reported to be heard all the way through town.

Great effort Coyotes, way to let em hear ya HOWLLLLLLLL.
