Legion Tyke #1 Simcoe Bound
Tyke #1 (Sponsored by the Elmvale Legion) beat Oro #3 5-2 Saturday morning, as they ran their record to an impressive 10-0. This win leads them nicely into next weekend where they will travel to Simcoe, ON for their 1st tournament of the year.
Overall a great game by Elmvale as they displayed intensity at all three facets of the game (offense, defense, and goaltending).
Trenton, Quintin, and Ty contributed the goals, and Nikolas added a pair of assists. Outstanding defensive play by Nathan and Rylan contributed significantly to the win. The defense and back checking was relentless throughout which is why Benjamin was able to pitch a shutout for 26 minutes. Oro battled hard and added to goals late, but ran out of time for the comeback.
Tyler earned the 'Super Sport' player of the game for really working hard, showing moves reminiscent of Denis Savard, and for his commitment to staying onside throughout.
Just a couple of practices left, and then it's Simcoe here we come. Tyke #1 will play New Hamburg Friday night, Simcoe, and St George on Saturday, and hopes to be playing on Sunday as well.
