Legion Tyke #1 Finishes Regular Season
Tyke #1 finished their 14 game regular season on Saturday with a thrilling come from behind victory over Tyke #4.  The Tyke #1 Coyotes amassed an impressive 13-1 record throughout the season, with their only loss coming at the hands of rival Tyke #2.

Last weekend Tyke #1 took to the ice on Saturday against Tyke #2.  In a well played game the Tyke #1 Coyotes suffered their 1st loss of the season by a score of 4-3.  Ty put Tyke #1 on top early with a couple goals, but Tyke #2 powered by Isaac and Luke would notch 3 goals in a row.  With time running out Nikolas was able to score with 2:10 remaining to tie the score, only to see Tyke #2 regain their lead as Isaac scored his 3rd of the game, which ended up as the winning goal.  Trenton played excellent in net, and both teams impressed the crowd with their hard work, and skillful play.

Legion Tyke #1 had no time to dwell on the loss on Saturday, as they were on the ice Sunday morning in Coldwater.  Nikolas got the call in net, and played exceptionally well in a 8-3 victory.  On the offensive side of the ledger, the twins (Quintin & Tyler) combined for 7 points in the win.  Cameron was player of the game for his efforts that almost led to his 1st goal of the season.

Tyke #1's final game of the regular season was a match up against Tyke #4.  Tyke #4 got out to an early lead, when Elijah and Cameron found the back of the net multiple times.  Beckham was in the net for Tyke #4 and was able to turn away most of the many chances Tyke #1 were generating.  One puck he was unable to stop was a hard wrist shot off the stick of Nathan Sokach, who bulged the twine for the 1st time this year.  Nathan Scruton, who was in net for Tyke #1, got better as the game wore on, and was able to keep the score respectable.  With just 2 minutes left Tyke #1 was down 7-4, and staring their 2nd loss straight in the face.  Trenton and Benjamin were able to bring Tyke #1 within 1 with goals just 8 seconds apart early in the shift.  Down by 1, Nathan was called to the bench for an extra attacker, and Benjamin was able to tie the score with under a minute to go. Then, as time ticked down Benjamin was able to free himself in the slot 1 more time and slide home the winning goal with just 12 seconds remaining.  Final score 8-7 for Tyke #1.  For his efforts Benjamin was named player of the game.

Tyke #1 seems to have a never say die attitude that has seen them come from behind in several games this year, as they continue to push to the bitter end of every game, and have been rewarded for their efforts on several occasions.

There is just 1 last hurdle for the Legion Tyke #1 Coyotes.  That being their final tournament in Wasaga Beach. Some very good teams will be on hand, so it will be stern test for the Coyotes, to see if they can finish their season with as much commitment to each other as they have displayed all season long.
