The Elmvale Home Building Center Tyke 1 travel to Simcoe for their first tournament
On January 31st, the Elmvale Home Building Center traveled South to Simcoe, Ontario for their first tournament.  For most players on the team it was their first overnight tournament ever and the anticipation was high as most kids didn't sleep much Thursday night.

The Elmvale Home Building Center opened up the tournament Friday night against one of the home teams the Simcoe Penguins.  What a battle it was.  It was a back & forth affair for most of the game as the teams traded goals throughout most of the game.  Every player showed up to play and put forth an excellent effort.  Braeden B played his best defensive game ever stopping the Simcoe Penguins every time they hit the neutral zone and what Braeden B. didn't stop William V stopped. In the end the Elmvale Home Building Center won the game by a score of 8-7.  The Elmvale Home Building Center didn't have much time to celebrate their win as they were scheduled for a 7 a.m. game on Saturday which meant Coach J had to put his foot down and set a 9 p.m. curfew.

The alarm clocks rang early but the Elmvale Home Building Center Tyke #1 showed up to play hockey as they took on the St Mary's Senators.  The game was a one sided affair as the Elmvale Home Building Center Tyke #1's took it by a score of 17-1.  Goals were scored by Caleb D X6, Carter L X4, Evan M X2, Evan B, Braeden B, Jacob H & Rachel K.  Assists went out to Leighton T X6, Gabriella P X5, Evan B X4, Evan M X3,Myah V X2, Rachel K X2 and Aidan B. They took on the St. George Blues for the next game.  It was another one sided affair as the Elmvale Home Building Center won the game by a score of 13-0.  William V was performing calisthenics during the game just to keep warm as he didn't face any shots all game thanks to the great defensive play of his team.  Scoring the Elmvale Home Building Center goals were Laurin X4, Evan M X2, Jacob H X2, Caleb D X2, Braeden B, Rachel K & Leighton T. Sunday seen the team in the quarters finals as they were the number #1 team in their division going undefeated. The game was going to be tough as they were taking on the Waterford Firefighters and they were ready to extinguish the Elmvale Home Building Center Tyke #1's as they were on fire.  It was another back & forth game but in the end the Waterford Firefighters came out on top with a score of 7-5.  Goals were scored by Carter L X3, Caleb D & Evan M.

The coaching staff were proud of their players as they came together and played some great hockey.  Each and every player, played with determination, grit and sportsmanship which would have made the Town of Elmvale proud.  The number one thing that the players walked away with was that fact that each and every player had fun.  It showed on their faces as they were all grinning from ear to ear.  Go Coyotes Go!!!!!!!!
