Have fun, work hard, play
as a pack, and execute the game plan,
finishing with 5 wins, 1 loss and 2
ties, for a total of 12 points in first place. For those math die-hards out there, that’s a
0.75 win percentage. We did it with
style too, amassing the highest goals-for total with 27 and the lowest amount of goals-against at 17, and equally important was the 2nd fewest amount of penalty minutes eclipsed by only the other Elmvale LL
team; A bunch of sweet kids in Elmvale
by the looks of it!
The pride that comes with putting together a plan and watching a group of boys and girls give it their all to execute it successfully, makes the 7am practices well worth it. As it turned out, we didn’t need to win our last remaining games to advance to the next round but we believed we did and we played like we did. That;s a big accomplishment. We do however need to win our next 2 games; this is a must. What is our game plan? The same as it has been for these entire playoffs…have fun play hard, play as a team. Be aggressive on the puck and without the puck, be strong around both nets, play smart whistle to whistle, keep to our strategies on offense and defense every shift without exception. Play as a pack.
The next series will be our best play yet. It is against our toughest opponent we have faced in these playoffs to date. The Creemore Valley Hawks play just as tough, just as fast, and with just as much passion as our thirsty pack of Coyotes. Both teams are predators, eager to pounce on any opportunity for victory. However, while the hawks, may circle high and fast, looking to strike from a distance with speed and precision, it will be the coyote’s cunning and patience that leads them to victory. For you see, unlike the lone striking prowess of the Hawk, the Coyote is a pack animal, and the tighter the pack grows together the stronger it becomes. Watching these kids on and off the ice, it is truly evident just how tight their pack friendships have become.
Remember: There are good ships and there are wood ships, the ships that sail the sea. But the best ships are friendships and may they always be.
