Elmvale Lions Club Atom Rep Wins Back-To-Back Tournaments
On November 20th the team coached by Donnie Robertson, Ryan Carefoot, Dave Crowder and manager Carrie Jesseau headed to Port Dover to play in the Tom Butler Memorial Tournament.

The team got off to a flying start defeating Dunnville in their first game. Next, they met up with hometown favorites, the Port Dover Pirates. The boys played a solid game winning 3-1. Sunday morning the Coyotes continued their winning ways defeating South Kent.

The Coyotes placed first in their pool, which meant they faced the Lambeth Lancers (also undefeated) in the championship game. The game was a tough match, with end-to-end action and both teams playing well. The Coyotes finally opened up the scoring. Ahead 2-0, the Lancers answered with a goal of their own. However, Elmvale was not giving up. Final score Elmvale Coyotes 3, Lambeth Lancers 1. What a fantastic weekend; manhunt, mini-sticks, chalk talks and an undefeated record! Way to go boys!

Port Dover was just a warm-up for the Elmvale Lions Club team who had their sights set on the Regional Silver Stick Tournament hosted by Wasaga Beach on November 27th and 28th. Elmvale played their opening game against the Simcoe Warriors. It was obvious that the boys had been practicing hard and were carrying their momentum from the previous weekend as they came out ready to play. It was one of the teams toughest games to date, ending in a 1-1 tie.

Next the Coyotes faced the Penetang Flames who they had difficulty with in regular season. However, it didn't take long for Elmvale to find the net and then there was no stopping them. Elmvale won 4-0.

Sunday, the Coyotes faced the Oro Thunder. Although Oro were strong opponents it was clear that the Elmvale boys had come to win. Great Passing, fore-checking, back checking and solid goaltending all went together to create yet another victory for the Coyotes.

Next they were on to the championship game against the Newcastle Stars. What a game! Fans were in the edge of their seats as both teams worked hard and played their best. Both teams had great scoring opportunities, but dynamite goaltending resulted in a 1-1 tie at the end of regulation time. The Elmvale Coyotes had to stay focused dig deep to play an overtime period. With 5 minutes remaining in overtime, Michael Macneall found a way to raise the puck over a crowd in front of the net. Coyotes win 2-1! What a terrific tournament!

The team will now represent Elmvale Minor Hockey at the International Silver Stick Tournament in Forest on January 22nd and 23rd. Good Luck to Brayson Fay, Trenton Peterson, Luke Phillips, Ty Groenewoud, Tanner Playne, Jaxon Pretty, Jaxson Johnston, Joshua Stone, Isaac Jesseau, Keenan Crowder, Michael Macneall, Elijah Williams, Benjamin Kelly and Cameron Robertson.

Since the two tournaments the boys have gone on in regular season play to defeat the Owen Sound Attack, Oro Thunder and Wasaga Beach Stars. Come on out and cheer the boys on at their next home game on Friday December 19th at 8pm vs Oro.
