Hapamp Ltd Bantam Rep's capture the Brian English Memorial Tournament Crown
Friday October 28 saw the Hapamp Ltd. Bantam rep's take to home ice for the first time this season to compete in the Brian English Memorial Tournament.  The boys have had some success to this point of the year with regular season wins over Huntsville and Wasaga Beach, a tie with ParrySound and a semi final berth in the All Star challenge tournament in Lincoln.

Game 1 saw Elmvale face off with perennial rival the Penetang Flames.  Not sure if it was the nerves of finally being back on home ice or if the boys just under estimated the opposition but we dropped a heart breaker 4-1.  The high lite in a losing cause was a beautiful power play goal by Jason Priest assisted by Cade Preston and Jack Nell.  After a team diner the boys seemed re energized and ready to take on the Rams from Mount Forest.  Wasting no time in getting the offence rolling less than two minutes in Issak McGinnis found the back of the net from Matthew Campbell and Logan Sandercock.  From there the team did not look back scoring one more in the first, three in the second and adding a third period tally to come out victorious 6-1, also scoring for the Coyote's was Priest with 2, Nell, Campbell and Raymond Haring.  Adding helpers were Preston with 2, Campbell, Sandercock, McGinnis, Ethan Phillips, Noah Parnell, Carter Crowder and Braydon Knight.  Tyler Johnston had a strong performance in net.

Saturday morning saw the home town Coyote's face of with the Brighton Braves in a win and move on game.  after a tightly contested first period the boys opened things up in the second and cruised to a convincing 5-0 victory.  Scoring for Elmvale was Cade Preston with the hat trick, solo markers went to Ethan Phillips and Carter Crowder.  Assists went to Phillips with two, Luke Dutton with two, Priest, Sandercock, Haring, and Nell.  Jake Scott record the shutout between the pipes.

Sunday Morning a semi final match-up with the undefeated Tavistock Titans.  This was highly contested match up with both teams trading chances throughout the game.  With the Coyote's down a man mid way through the third Raymond Haring connected on a Noah Parnell feed to put the home town boys on the board.  This would prove to be all the scoring Elmvale would require as Tyler Johnston was able to preserve the shutout with some great saves late in the game as the boys punched their ticket to finals with a 1-0 victory.  The finals saw us match-up with the Flames from Penetang once again.  Following the inspirational Rocket speech from assistant Coach Paul Priest the boys came out flying.  Early in the first Carter Crowder buried a feed from Luke Dutton and Raymond Haring to open the scoring, that was followed by Issak McGinnis netting what would prove to be the winner on a feed from Ethan Faris and Logan Sandercock.  The Flames would pot one of their own on a five on three power play with just twenty eight seconds remaining, but the penalty killers were able to hold off the late charge and secure the home town team a victory.  Jake Scott picked up the win in net making multiple outstanding saves to keep Elmvale in the game.

The coaching staff of Doug Dutton, Paul Priest, Dave Crowder and trainer Dave Phillips would like to commend the boys on their play so far this season, in particular their play in this tournament.  the team is really coming together and adapting the style of play the coach's are looking for.  A big thank you to our sponsor Hapamp for their continued support of Elmvale Minor hockey, and big congratulations to the boys on bringing home the championship in the Brian English Memorial Tournament.
