Lynn-Stone Funeral Home Atom LL 1 Finishes Regular Season First in their Division
Finishing first overall in their division during the regular season, Lynn-Stone Funeral Home  Atom Local League 1 is excited to be heading into the GBTLL playoffs. The team spent the beginning of the season focusing on learning their positions and how to work together as a team, not just individual players. When the players passed the puck and played as a team they were unstoppable.

From first year hockey player Ethan Leddy, who is heading into the playoffs with 6 goals to Joel Therrien, making his comeback to hockey after a year off, this team is constantly learning and encouraging one another. Goalie William Veenstra, with the best goals against average in the Atom division, and a consistently strong defensive team of Carter Bylow, Logan Golka, Kyson Osborne and Brody Ritchie this team has held off their competitors throughout the season.  And it certainly doesn’t hurt that the full defensive line, including our goalie, has contributed to goals.
After a strong start to the season, the team headed into their first tournament, the Orr Lake Golf Hat Trick Tournament in Elmvale. Beating out Barrie Green Hornets, Midland Centennials, Oakville Black Knights & Parry Sound Shamrocks, Atom LL1 headed into the championship game, a nail biting game against Innisfil Winterhawks. With under 2 minutes left in the game, and down by 1, Atom LL1 pulled their goalie and centre Nick Johnston tied the game. Then 1 minute into overtime, Nick had another amazing goal resulting in Atom LL1 winning the tournament and continuing the team’s undefeated streak.
The team headed to Richmond Hill in January for their 2nd tournament. Atom LL1 won their first 3 games against Erindale Spitfires, Richmond Hill Kings & Ilderton Jets , winning their division, then faced off against Parry Sound Shamrocks in the finals. A hard fought game, with some incredible passing, led to Atom LL1 second tournament championship of the season. With goals by Grayson Alexander, Rowan Forigo, Keegan Hummelink, Nick Johnston, Foster McClung , Michael Rheinheimer, and Leim Van Loosen, during this tournament, this well rounded team continued to impress with their team play.
Heading into playoffs in February, the team is excited for some challenging games as they face the best in the A Division. Atom LL1 will close the season with a final tournament in Parry Sound and no matter the outcome of the next 2 months this has been a truly exceptional year of hockey for both the players and parents. A special thank you to the coach staffing: Dave Alexander, Barry Bylow, Roger Forigo, Chris Golka, Ian Osborne and Michelle Veenstra. These players would not have grown and come together as a team without your dedication, hard work and support.
