Bourgeois Motors PeeWee LL 2 Season in Review
Way back in September, yet another minor hockey season got rolling, the Bourgeois Motors Elmvale Local League 2 team comprised of Brodie McTavish, Manny Gleason, Hayden King, Lily Hammer, Avery Clemmens, Koston McClung, Edward Monck, Nathan Sokach, Nathan Boland, Wyatt Alldred, Anthony Mino and Cole KleinGibbinck was off to the races.

The 2017 – 2018 season would prove to be a somewhat frustrating one for the kids as W’s were few and far between, however, with all the tough losses the team as a group maintained an unbelievable attitude. Game in and game out all season the kids put forth maximum effort while maintaining a positive attitude. By mid season they were rounded into shape just in time for a wild home and home series with the cross-town rival Elmvale PeeWee LL 1 crew over the Chritsmas break. With each team coming away with a win the two teams would have to wait until the playoffs to settle the grudge match. By the time playoffs started in late February the PeeWee LL 2 team was firing on all cylinders!!! In the final head to head match up between the two evenly matched teams it was a dog fight from the initial puck drop, with the LL 2 kids jumping out to a 3-1 lead. The LL 1 kids left a little more gas in the tank for the third period and eventually after a unbelievable effort tied it up 3-3 before the final buzzer, leaving the season series at 1 Win, 1 Loss and 1 Tie for each team!! As they say, there’s always next year.

A few other highlights for the season included the 10 round head to head simultaneous shootout we ended up in at the end of first game at our away tournament in Arthur in early February, I’ve personally never been involved in a more nerve racking yet wildly exciting situation in all my years of minor hockey. And finally our last game of the season a dominating 4-2 victory, where the kids again after a long tough character building season showed up ready to rock and put forth and effort any coaching staff and group of parents could be proud of !!!

I’d like to thank all the parents, grandparents and anyone else who helped get the kids to our beloved 6am Monday morning practices all year, to our sponsors EMHA truly appreciates your support, and finally to the other volunteers without who we would not have a minor hockey season Becky Rawn ( Team Manager ), Brad Sokach ( Team Trainer ) and Jason Monck and Joe King ( Ass. Coaches )

See you at the Rink
