Hardship Acres Peewee AE Finish Season Strong
The first weekend of January is when the Hardship Acres Peewee AE team wrapped up their regular season. These young men were determined to finish off strong and try and gain some momentum heading into playoffs. Finishing off strong is just what they did coming away with two wins.
On January 6th the team made the long trek down HWY 26 to Owen Sound. The game had been rescheduled from the week before due to poor visibility. As per usual the drive was far from ideal but the dedicated group of parents pushed through and made sure their boys made it there to play. The long drive didn't seem to effect them as they came out strong domination Owen Sound in the first. In the end after a long three periods we were able to come away with a 3-2 victory.
On Sunday January 7 we hosted our final game of the regular season against Oro. Once again it was tight game but the team never gave up and were able to bury 3 past the opposing team again this time winning 3-1 and ending the season with a favourable 13-5-2 record.
The hard work these boys have put in thus far under the tutelage of coach Jordan Scruton has been paying dividends and has these young men ready for playoffs. We would like to invite you all out to come and watch this exciting young team, and all the others in EMHA, as the begin their championship quest in playoffs. Sunday January 14 we will be hosting Owen Sound at 5:40pm for our first round robin game for the Georgian Bay playoffs. Next weekend we will be starting our first round of the OMHA playoffs against a tough opponent in Huntsville. OMHA will be a best of 5 series and all games are expected to entertaining from puck drop until the final buzzer. Please look on the EMHA website and see when the playoff games are happening and support all the teams through their post season journey.
