Information For New Referees
2018 / 2019 will be a transition year for the OMHA and its on ice officials.  Phase 1 of the Modified Ice Mandate will be implemented at the Tyke level, while 2019/2020 will have it taken to the Novice division.

For the coming year we have not been informed whether or not Tyke games will require officials or not.

Regardless we would be looking for 1 or 2 officials to join the staff.

If you are 14 years of age (as at December 31st 2018) you will need to go to an OMHA Referee School (https://www.omha.net/page/show/885477-referee-school) in order to get added to our Area H roster.

If you are 15 years of ago (or older) you can either attend an OMHA Referee School (as mentioned above) or attend an OMHA entry level clinic.  There is usually 1 clinic in Area H each year in October or November, but details will not be released until September at the earliest.  The OMHA site has all the information you will need along with clinic listings (https://www.omha.net/page/show/947907-referee-education).

Prior to registering for any clinic or for additional information please contact Mike Kelly ([email protected]).
