Orr Lake Golf Hat Trick Tournament Results are In
Over the past weekend 17 teams ventured to Elmvale to compete for the Orr Lake Golf Hat Trick Championship hats and they did not disappoint their fans with some great hockey, good sportsmanship and FUN....
The U11 division saw 5 teams compete and compete they did. The first three games of this division ended in 2-2 ties. All the games were extremely close in this hotly contested group. Elmvale Coyotes #1 faced off against their counterparts the Elmvale Coyotes #2 team in the semifinal game. These two teams have had 3 one goal contest and this contest was no different with the Elmvale #2 team advancing to the finals with a hard fought 1-0 victory.
They would face the fast-skating Mariposa Lightning team in the finals. This back-and-forth game ended with the Mariposa Lightning as tournament champs.

In our U13 division 6 teams battled for the Championship. In one semifinal the Barrie Royal Blue beat the Osprey Hawks in an exciting overtime game while the East Gwillimbury #2 team defeated the Mariposa Lightning team.
The finals was another exciting game with the Barrie Royal Blue team holding on for a 3-2 win to become tournament champions.

In the U15 division another 6 teams competed for the Championship Hats. In the first semifinal Coldwater Wildcats defeated the Barrie Dolphins. The other semi proved to be an epic game that may go down as one of the most hotly contested Orr Lake Golf Hat Trick games of all time. After a scoreless 3 periods and an exciting OT that saw a 5 on 3 being killed off the Oro Thunder team defeated the Rayside Balfour IceCats 1-0 in a Shootout.
In the final the Coldwater Wildcats beat the Oro Thunder to claim top spot.
