Elmvale Coyote U9 Teams Make Sure Coyote Cup Stays in Elmvale
Our very own Elmvale Coyote U9 LL teams did Elmvale proud by winning the Consolation Championship and the Championship Final in the First Annual U9 Coyote Cup Tournament.
Saturday January 21st saw eight U9 teams arrive in Elmvale with the hope to hoist the First Annual Shiny Brand New Coyote Cup.
Games started at 8am and ended at 630pm for these young hockey players. They had to play 2 or 3 games throughout the day while in between playing with their new Coyote Cup Mini Stick and having a snack at our arena booth. Thanks to Christine and the rest of the Snack Shack crew for helping to sponsor the food for all the players and timekeepers.
After the first eight games, the Elmvale Coyotes #1 team were left facing the South Grey Spartans team in the Consolation final. Both teams played hard with the Coyotes coming out on top and celebrating their victory.
In the Championship Final the strong Oro Thunder #2 team faced off against our undefeated Elmvale Coyotes #2 team. This game didn't disappoint the hundreds of fans in attendance as they witnessed some great saves, some great passing, lots of hard work and pretty goals. In the end their were a lot of tired players with smiling faces, the Elmvale Coyotes #2 team coming out on top with a 4-2 hard fought battle.
Thanks to all the teams that participated in our first annual U9 Coyote Cup. Special thanks to all the referees and timekeepers for helping make the day run so smoothly.
