Early Season Success For McNamara Novices
The Novice Rep Coyotes have enjoyed some early season success as they have rattled off a couple shut out victories to start their regular season campaign with a 2-0 record.

After a couple pre-season wins under their belt the Coyotes traveled to Midland to take on the Centennials on Monday.

The game was a stark contrast to the pre-season.  Offense was hard to come by, as the Midland team employed great team defense, and held the Coyotes to very few chances throughout the game.

While at the other end the Coyote defense played well, and Gavin picked up the slack when Midland was able to create their scoring chances.

Half way through the 3rd period with the score still 0-0, a rare Coyote forecheck created a turnover deep and with a quick pass to the slot, the Coyotes would score the only goal of the game.

On Saturday the Coyotes met the Parry Sound Shamrocks at the Bobby Orr Community Centre.  Elmvale got to work quickly, and was able to score early, and put the game out of reach.  Final was 14-0. Gavin although not tested near as much in this one recorded his 2nd straight shut out to start the season.

The Coyotes now have a little break with the Fall Fair, and Thanksgiving upon us, and will next see action on Oct 18th as they will travel to Owen Sound to take on a strong Jr Attack team.  Then on Sunday the 20th they will have their home opener as the Oro Thunder come to town.

A reminder that the Novice Rep team is holding a a bottle drive on Oct 19th, to help fund their hockey tournaments this year.  So hold onto those cans and bottles over the long weekend, we'll be by to pick them up between 9-2, on the 19th.
