Season Begins for Diamond Head Sprinklers Atom LL #1
On Friday October 17, after a long Thanksgiving break, the Elmvale Atom LL#1 took to the ice to face off against Elmvale LL#2. As anticipated, in front of an amazing crowd, the game did not disappoint the fans with some great end to end action which lead to a win for Elmvale #1. It was a full team effort with every player giving it their all and due to the hard work, the season started off on a winning note.
Added props has to go out to our goalie Raffi Febbraro with the win. Not only was this his first win of the season, it was in his first game in his career as a goaltender. Raffi stood strong early as he was tested quickly as we were slow out of the gate. He played well all game, only letting 3 behind him on route to the victory.
Our defense all played well helping keep the puck out of our end and helping Raffi keep the goals down. Offensively ever player worked hard and got lots of shots on the opposing tender, but were having trouble solving the wall Kaden Ritchie was putting up in the other end.
Goals were scored by Tanner Playne with 2, Trenton Peterson, Joshua Nichols and Ian VanLaarhoven. Assists going out to Josh with 2, Trenton, Kyle Towns, Nathan Scruton, Wesley Nelson and Gavin Fay.
Shout out also to Ashton Birch who played in his first organized game of hockey ever. The entire team deserves a pat on the back for working hard while having fun for this victory. It is going to be great season!
