Short and sweet, it’s coming right down to the wire. It’s anyone’s chance to take top spot during
the round robin series of the Peewee Local League. Last night’s Elmvale melee was much closer
than the 4-0 score on the board indicated.
Both teams, played hard, passed well and fought for the puck. In the end the Elmvale LL#2 team came out on
top, but the play was so good from either team it could have gone either
way.
Though last night’s loss eliminates the Elmvale LL#1 team from advancing, the heartfelt congratulations and well wishes Elmvale LL#1 had for Elmvale LL#2 team last night was a testament to how close the players and coaches of these two teams have grown over the last 7 months or so.
How do we spell success for Peewee LL2? TEAMWORK, the kids have come together as a unified front, what started as individual players has turned into a team where everyone works together and looks out for each other. As a coaching staff we cannot begin to explain how proud we are of the team as they come together on and off the ice!
Now on to the future: Elmvale LL#2 has a chance to take top spot in the C Pool round robin series with some hard work and proper execution of their tried and true game plan. When all the math and permutations of who wins and who loses over the next 4 days, one answer holds true; Elmvale LL#2 need to win their last game of the Pool C playoffs. With a win, Elmvale LL#2 assures at worst a first place tie in the standings after all the other games play out. Anything but a win, means a series of ties at the top, and its future determined by mathematics of the standings/Goals For %. Let’s take hold of our own futures and leave our calculators at home.
The Time: Friday March 6th 8:15pm
The Place: The Coyote’s Den
The Opponent: The Penetang Flames
The Plan: HAVE FUN! Skate hard, pass well, own the puck, play our game, respect ourselves, our opponent and the game of hockey. Believe you can, and you will.
Dear Players: No matter the outcome of the next game or the season, you make us all (coaches and parents) very proud every time you step on the ice and follow the plan we’ve set out for this season and play as a Pack. Rest up, and see you all Friday for our best game so far.
From the Heart,
Signed: Your Coaching Staff.
