Brian English Memorial Tournament Rules 2019
All OMHA and CHA Rules will apply plus the following additions:
1. Each team must report to the arena they are playing in 45 minutes before their first game to present all necessary paperwork. (approved roster, travel permit or letter of permission from their local hockey association.
2. All teams must have a certified trainer on the bench at all times.
3. All teams must be prepared to play 15 minutes prior to their scheduled game time.
4. teams will line up and shake hands prior to beginning of the game.
5. All game sheets must be filled out by both teams and returned to the tournament convenor 10 minutes before the start of the game.
6. The team designated as the home team will occupy the home bench and wear light colour jerseys.
7. All game suspensions shall be assessed as per OMHA regulations. The only exception is a fighting major. Any fighting major will result in automatic player disqualification for the remainder of the tournament.
8. There will be a point system for the preliminary round robin play; 2 points for a win, 1 pointy for a tie, 0 points for a loss.
9. There will be no overtime in Round Robin games.
10. The length of all round robin games will be a three minute warm up, followed by a 10-10-15. All games are stop time. Running time will come into affect in the third period when there is a 5 goal differential at any time. Stop time will resume if the differential is reduced. Please make sure your team is ready to go when the Zamboni is off the ice and the back door is closed.
11. All referee decisions are final.
Standings after Round Robin games of the tournament will be decided on the following basis:
1. Team with most points.
2. When two teams are tied, head to head competition will be used to determine the placing.
3. Highest scoring percentage (Goals your team scored divided by total goals scored and total goals against by your team) Higher percentage takes the higher placing in the standings.
Eliminations game (Playoff games).
1. Length of games will be 10-10-15. One time out will be allowed to each team per game.
2. 1 - 10 minute stop time sudden victory will be played if tied after regulation time. Play will be 4 on 4 format.
3. If teams are still tied, a shoot out will commence. Three different shooters will shoot. If still tied after each teams has had their three shoot outs, then a sudden victory shoot out will commence. Each team will send one different player at a time to centre ice. The first three cannot go again till everybody on the team has had a shot. From the fourth shooter on it becomes a sudden victory shoot out. Any player serving a penalty at the end of the overtime period is not eligible to participate in the shootout
