Hardship Acres Atom AE Advance to OMHA Quarter Finals !!
Submitted By Jamie McClung on Sun 02 10, 19
The Hardship Acres Elmvale Atom AE team has advanced to the OMHA Playdown Quarter final round, after a hard fought 5 game series against the Midland Centennial AE squad they will now face the Napanee Stars Atom AE squad. The team consisting of Allison Birch, Reilly ( Bubba ) Thorne, William Way, Jeremy Brewer, Pierce Hlady, Nick Peterson, Lukin Godin, Gavin Hall, Chase Champion, Liam Barber, Foster McClung, Owen French and Everett Truax have played well all year, enjoyed their 6am Monday practices and had a little bit fun along the way.

While finishing the regular season with a .500 record was quite an accomplishment in a tough AE division, it was a strong finish in the final 4 games of the regular season that helped the kids earn a bye through the first preliminary round of the playdowns. With the bye came an extended lay off through January that saw the team go almost a month between games, the kids were chomping at the bit for some playoff action. The five games against the Midland squad were a back and forth affair with no established home ice advantage, a thrilling 3-2 overtime win in Game #2, some unbelievable goaltending, a few ups and downs and finally a great team effort in the 5th and deciding game to move the team onto the Quarter Finals !!

I’d like to thank the parents, grandparents and all the family members that have taken time to come to the rink to cheer the team on this season, our team sponsor Kevin Fay and everyone at Hardship Acres for the continued support of Elmvale Minor Hockey. Also a big thanks to the on ice helpers Barrett Truax as well as the team staff Angela Birch, Jeff French, AJ and Sherry Lee Champion and Brandon Godin for all the time and effort they have put in this year !!

Go Coyotes Go !!!

Coach Jamie
