Tyke 1 Season Comes To A Close
Submitted By Michael Kelly on Mon 03 25, 19
The Tyke 1 team may be small but they are mighty! In September as all the tykes hit the ice, you could feel the energy and the excitement to be back at the rink. For the first few weeks they reintroduced themselves with their core skills and getting their ice-legs back.

During October and November we watched as the kids dedicated themselves to two practices a week honing in on passing, playing the boards and getting themselves open for the play as well as a focus on goaltending.

As games were added you could really see the team improve week to week. You could always find Parker Sneddon, Matthew Manzone and Mackenzie Truax with incredible speed rushing to get the puck into the net. Troy Hales, Easton Bradley, Lincoln Moreau and Gracelynn Smith never gave up on a play and dug deep fighting for that puck. Everson Fay, Nash McMann, Liam Gould and Sam Dennis really took to the passing and playing the boards. Although we had a few players express interest in goaltending – and braved it - Mackenzie and Everson definitely led our team as goalies.

In January we headed off to the Simcoe Lyons Tyke Tournament for some team building and great hockey. And what a great weekend it was with endless mini-sticks, food and six hockey games these kids never stopped smiling.

This team has grown so much over the season thanks to their hard work and dedication. On behalf of the parents, coach staff Head Coach Cullen Fay, Asst. Coaches Chad Moreau and Chris McMann and Manager Heather Sneddon we want to thank our Tyke 1 Coyotes for a great season and for working so hard. We can’t wait to see what you bring to the ice next year!
