I hope all is well!
With the season winding down and most teams engaged in playoffs, we would like to wish all teams and players the very best during the final stages of the season. In looking at the standings for playoffs, many teams are doing well in their respective pools and we hope for continued success!
Your EMHA Executive has been working very hard engaging in conversations and meetings regarding reviewing this past season and assessing the registration fees in comparison to games missed due to the shut down from Covid. A special thanks to our Treasurer and Registrar who have been working hard to compile information regarding all teams in EMHA while managing the budget. I am happy to inform you that we have approved for a refund for each player (team) from this current season.
Please note that not all centers in our Georgian Bay loop are issuing refunds to their membership, however EMHA felt it important to do so.
In looking at refund amounts, the main consideration was parity across the membership with respect to how many games were played by each team in comparison to the registration costs. Although there were some costs incurred during the shut down, we felt it important to try and maximize the refund amount while taking into consideration fiscal responsibility to the annual budget. Below you will find a table which breaks down the amount per player per team.
In order to logistically make the refunds as smooth as possible, those that paid their registration fees via credit card will have their refund send back to their card by the end of March. Those that have paid via E-Transfer and EMHA has their direct deposit information already on file will be paid via direct deposit by the end of March. All remaining players/families will be paid by cheque which will be distributed to team Managers by the end of March. Your patience will be very much appreciated as we navigate the logistics.
