It's hard to believe, but the 2022-2023 regular season has already come to an end for the U11 B Elmvale Coyotes team.
The boys have improved a lot in the second half of the season, battling some top teams. They had their first win of the season, beating the Shelburne Wolves at home with a score of 7-2. There were many close calls and nail biter games that went right to the buzzer, with this half of the season ending with a record of 1-4-3. Thanks to the dedication from Coaches Lalonde, Anderson, Van Loosen and Trainor Seney, the boys are passing better, skating faster, and shooting with more accuracy. While the regular season may be over, there is still a lot of hockey left to play as the team rolls into South Huron for the Bill Batten Memorial Tournament in mid-February. Playoffs are also around the corner, as well as our very own Maple Syrup Country Tournament mid-March.
The team would like to send a big thank you to the community for supporting their January bottle drive! It was amazing to see so many truck and trailer loads of empties being donated from people in Elmvale, Phelpston, Hillsdale and beyond. They raised a lot of money to help offset some costs (so their parents say thank you, too)!
As we head into tournaments and playoffs, just remember these wise words, boys: "sticks are unbelievable!"
