U13LL2 Year End Wrap Up.
As the saying goes, “All good things must come to an end,” and what a great season it was for the U13LL2 Elmvale Coyotes, proudly sponsored by BC Roofing and Sheet Metal.
While some players entered the season as familiar faces, many were new teammates—strangers quickly turned friends through a shared passion for the game. Over the months, this close-knit group of boys built bonds both on and off the ice, forming friendships that will last far beyond the final buzzer.
The Coyotes took their talents to two tournaments in March: the Clarington Thunder Classic and the Constable Morgan Russell Memorial Tournament. The competition was stiff in Clarington, where the team finished 1-3, but they bounced back strong at the second event with an impressive 2-1 record. Of course, the memories made went far beyond the scoreboard—hotel mini stick battles, poolside hangs, card games, and late-night Dairy Queen runs became treasured highlights of the season.
In post-season play, the Coyotes truly hit their stride. They topped Group B in round-robin action with a strong 5-1-2 record, notching wins over teams from Grand Valley, Collingwood, Penetang, and even their fellow Elmvale squad. Their performance earned them a spot in the championship series against Collingwood. Despite a determined effort, the Coyotes fell to the Blues in two hard-fought games.
The success of this season wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of an outstanding bench staff. The players extend heartfelt thanks to Head Coach Chris Jacobs, Assistant Coaches Evan Bates and Daniel Holden, Trainer Jeff Willett, and Manager Jennifer Gilchrist. Their time, guidance, and support made this season one to remember.
As the ice melts and the gear gets packed away, one thing is certain: the Elmvale Coyotes’ season was filled with effort, excitement, and endless memories.
