The EMHA U7 LL1 Blue Team continues with their very successful season, with 5 months of practices, games and tournaments under their belts.
The amount of growth that this team has shown since September is inspiring, both as a team and in each player themselves. With a perfect blend of both brand new and returning players, our team has found the perfect groove of working together and leaving the ice stronger than they already were.
The beginning of the season brought some shared-ice practices and scrimmages with our fellow U7 LL teams, helping our players to develop their skills and apply what they’ve learned each week. The new year brought both home and away games, as well as tournaments against nearby centres including Coldwater, Midland, and Wasaga. Sharing the opportunity to be goalie, as well as a ‘Player of the Game’ chain being awarded to a deserving player each game, our players are motivated to try their best and cheer one another on.
There is no doubt that a large contributor to their success and growth has come from their very own coaching staff. Coaches Sid, Andrew, Frankie & Jake have encouraged and guided our team through skills, drills and plays, empowering them to play their best and have fun while doing it.
We want to thank our sponsor, Tim Hortons, for supporting our team and providing our players with the opportunity to play their favourite game. Whether it’s warm drinks in parents’ hands in the stands, a pack of celebratory Timbits after a winning game, or a bagel or sandwich between games at a tournament, Tim Hortons has been a staple in Canadian rinks for decades. There is no better Canadian pairing than Tim Hortons and hockey, and there is no future hockey without training and empowering the youth of today to pursue the sport we all love.
