Hardship Acres Peewee AE's defeat Oro
After some mid season roster shuffling the Peewee AE's seem to have jelled together as a team. They finished the season on a 7-2-2 roll which included winning the Elmvale AE tournament as well as a tie versus the International Silver Stick champion Collingwood Blackhawks. As a result of their strong finish they ended up seeded second in their OMHA grouping. Their first round opponent would be the Oro Thunder.
The Coyotes took control of game one with two second period goals, one from Tanner Corriveau and the other from Connor McGee. They stayed in the lead for the rest of the game and won it 2-1. Game two saw Elmvale travel to Oro where the home side scored three quick goals in the first. The boys fought back with some great chances and a couple of goal line scrambles. The Thunder goalie would not allow anything past him and the Peewee AE's dropped game two 4-0. The coaching staff decided to shake things up by changing the positions of a couple of players. Elmvale came up with a much better effort in game 3 but still trailed 1-0 after the first period.
The boys were finally rewarded in the second as CJ Beltrame scored twice and Noah Parnell once to give the Coyotes a 3-1 lead. Eric Aldersey added one early in third and Elmvale skated away with a 4-1 victory. The Hardship Acres Peewee AE's controlled game four from the opening faceoff where they scored early and often. The Coyotes took the series in four games with a 7-1 win. Scoring for Elmvale was Hayden Schepers(2), Carter Luoma(2), Tanner Corriveau, Isaak McGinnis and Noah Parnell.
Next up for the Coyotes is a series against Collingwood. The Peewee AE's have 1-4-1 record versus the International Silver Stick champion Blackhawks. All the games were close so the boys feel like they can be beaten. The second game of the series is on Sunday February 2nd at 4:45pm. Come on out and cheer the boys on.
