The U11B team finished the year playing their best hockey of the season!
The 2022-2023 season has come to an end for the U11 B Elmvale Coyotes. These boys worked hard all season, improving individually and as a team. They found their groove in the last few weeks and were able to end the season in a way that they can be proud of! In the round-robin playoffs, the Coyotes defeated Essa, who had finished the regular season in first place. They moved into the semi-finals and held a tough Clearview team to a 1-1 tie until the last few minutes of the game, before Clearview went ahead for the win.
In tournament play, the Coyotes travelled to South Huron for the Bill Batten Memorial Tournament. While they didn’t get the results they wanted, the boys played hard and never gave up, and the weekend allowed for many fun team-bonding memories to be made (for the parents, too!). Finally, the boys played in the Elmvale Maple Syrup Tournament to kick off the March break. They beat Bradford and Pelham to advance to the semi-finals, where they played an incredible game against the mighty Thorold Blackhawks, narrowly falling with a score of 1-0.
Throughout the season, Coaches Anthony Lalonde, Brian Anderson, Darryl Van Loosen and Trainor John Seney worked with the boys on their skating, passing, offensive plays and defensive drills. The boys and their parents would like to thank this incredible coaching staff for their time and dedication to the team; what class acts leading our kids! The boys and their families would also like to send a huge thank you to Sherry Lee Champion, for being a top-notch manager, keeping everyone organized and in line. The extra special touches at tournaments are greatly appreciated, Sherry Lee!
