Coyotes Lose Season Series to Wildcats
On Sunday December 2nd the Elmvale Home
Building Centre Bantam AE team made the drive to Coldwater to take on
the Wildcats. The Elmvale Coyotes controlled most of the play in a great
first period of hockey but were unable to beat the Coldwater netminder.
The score after 1 period of play would be 0-0. Just 30 seconds in to
the second period Thomas Maw finally put a puck past the Wildcat
netminder and put the Coyotes up 1-0.
The Wildcats however answered back quickly tying the game at 1-1. Midway through the second Coldwater would take their first lead of the game on a nice passing play to beat Elmvale netminder Tristen Chiasson. Late in the period Coldwater netted another extending the lead to 3-1. Down 3-1 the Coyotes pushed hard for goals but at the same time gave up several quality scoring chances that were all turned away by Chiasson. With 5 minutes left to play Elmvale would pull to within 1 goal when Maw got his second from Noah Bouzis and Charlie Flieger, making the score 3-2. The teams would trade late goals with Maw getting his 3rd from Philip Eales but 4-3 would be as close as the Coyotes would get. The Elmvale Home Building Centre Bantam AE Coyotes lose the season series against the Wildcats 2 games to 0 in two very close one goal games.
