Glory Bound: The Bantam Rep Journey I
The first regular season game is almost a month away, but just like the pros, the Elmvale Coyote Bantam Rep team, sponsored by Hapamp, has completed try-outs and is now getting into game shape.

Try-outs were not without hardships. Tanner Corriveau broke three bones in his right arm during the first warm-up skate, and Jake Bouzis broke a rib in a defensive drill.

Head Coach, Paul Bouzis had well over thirty hopefuls attend try-outs. He said, “Every player on this team worked hard and earned a spot. There were some difficult decisions made.” The rest of the coaching staff, Kevin Fay (Assistant Coach), Dan O'Neill (Trainer), James Flemming (Assistant Trainer), and Darrin Robertson (Manager) are eager for the upcoming team meeting when season expectations will be discussed.

The team roster of 15 talented young men is as follows: William McDowell, Collin Kitching, Braedan Allen, Jakeb Veenstra, Jeremy Robertson, Ben Dietrich, Matt Clarke, Harrison Sibbald, Hunter Sibbald, Greg Wagner, Derek O'Neill, Robert McLaughlin, Jacob Fay, Xander Baatje, and Jake Bouzis.

The coaching staff and the 15 players have eight months worth of drama to look forward to. How well will they do in the regular season? Will they be successful in tournaments? How will the team weather injuries, slumps, and suspensions? And will they achieve their ultimate goal – an OMHA Championship? You can follow the ups and downs of the Bantam Rep season in this on-going column. Better yet, make a night of it and cheer them on in person, Friday nights at 9:20pm, starting in mid October, at the Elmvale Arena.
