Elmvale Home Building Centre Bantam AE Team back on winning track
The Elmvale Home Building Centre Bantam AE team got back to their winning ways by defeating the visiting Grand Valley Twisters Bantam REP team in front of a large home crowd at the Elmvale arena on Tuesday, Oct 23rd.

Grand Valley opened the scoring midway through first with a powerplay goal putting them up 1-0. The Elmvale Coyotes answered back just 8 seconds later when Nathaniel Charman fired a hard shot past the Grand Valley netminder with assists going to Andrew Sommervill and Jason Flury. Late in the first Charlie Flieger went end to end with a couple of pretty dekes only to be denied by the Grand Valley goalie. Flury opened up the second period with an early goal set up by Alex Sweeney and Flieger. Once again Elmvale found themselves in penalty trouble and it wasn't long before Grand Valley was able to capitalize and even the score with a powerplay marker at 2-2. With just 38 seconds left in the second, Grand Valley took their second lead of the game knocking in a loose puck making the score 3-2. Elmvale quickly bounced back and with 22 seconds left in the period Sweeney knocked in a rebound knotting the score up at 3-3 with assists going to Josh Tapscott and Darren Priest. The third period was an exciting end to end affair with both teams exchanging numerous quality chances all of which were turned away by both the Grand Valley netminder and Ryan Dauphin the Elmvale goaltender. Late in the third with both teams exhausted from the quick tempo play Flury went end to end on a solo rush and netted his second of the game to put Elmvale up 4-3. With the clock winding down Elmvale continued to put pressure on the Grand Valley defense and with less than 2 minutes left in the game Sweeney got his second of the match with Tapscott and Landon McGinnis getting the assists making the final score 5-3. The Elmvale Home Building Centre Bantam AE will now travel to Collingwood to face the red hot Blackhawks Friday night at 8:50 in Collingwood. Be sure to make the trip and cheer on the boys as they work their way up the standings.
