Hapamp Bantam Rep Tie Season Opener
On Saturday, Oct. 19th, the Hapamp Bantam Rep Coyotes opened up their regular season play against the visiting Huntsville Otters. The first period was a little one sided and the Coyotes were very lucky to be down by only a goal when the first period ended.

The second period started out with more pressure from the Otters, but midway through the period Derek Sweeney put the Elmvale Coyotes on the scoreboard on a pass from Tye King making the score 1-1. Soon after, the Coyotes would take the lead when Andrew Priest scored on the powerplay with assists going to Jake Lalonde and Braeden Allen.

The lead would be short lived as the Otters would score a powerplay goal of their own, making the score after two periods, 2-2. The teams exchanged several chances early in the third with neither team able to find the back of the net. With less than 5 minutes to play, Priest would score his second of the game on a feed from Derek Sweeney giving the Coyotes their second lead of the game at 3-2. The determined Otters were not willing to go home without a point and with little time left on the clock, they were able to even up the score making the final 3-3.

Elmvale netminder Kaiden Maw kept the Hapamp Bantam Rep Coyotes in this game making 39 saves. This year’s Hapamp Bantam Rep Coyotes Team consists of forwards Troy Bellisle, Nevin King, Andrew Priest, Derek Sweeney, Owen King, Jordan Agar, Matt Clarke, Alex Sweeney and Brock KleinGebbinck.  Defense players are Jake Lalonde, Tye King, Colin Kitching, Braeden Allen, Aiden McKinstry and Charlie Flieger. Playing in goal is Kaiden Maw. The Hapamp Bantam Rep Coyotes are back in action on the road in Wasaga Beach on Sunday, Oct. 20th at 7:30, hungry for their first regular season victory.
