Elmvale Legion Tyke #1 Records 3rd Shutout of the Year
Fresh off a 2 week Christmas break Tyke #1 travelled to Wasaga to take on the Wasaga #2 team.
The fresh legs were evident by the considerable wandering throughout the game, but Coach Jordan and Coach Cory were able to settle the kids down enough and keep them on point to secure the shut out for Nathan who played solidly when called upon.
Nathan had taken the Kevin Fay 'Goaltending Made Easy' clinic earlier on in the season, and he was able to use many of the skills furnished to him that day. I found it interesting that Kevin could provide his whole bag of trick in just a 1 hour session...interesting but not surprising. Nathan thwarted all chances against and pitched his 1st shutout of the year, and the Legion Tyke #1's 3rd of the season. For his efforts Nathan was awarded the 'Super Sport' of the game.
On the offensive side of things Benjamin worked hard and was rewarded with a multiple goal game, while William picked up his 1st point of the season in just his 2nd game. Rylan chipped in a goal (his 3rd of the season), Nathan Scruton picked up a couple of assists playing solid defence throughout.
Tyke #1 returns to action next weekend with a Sat / Sun back to back weekend.
